The Government Council also approves the agreement with the University of Granada for its students to undertake internships in the island corporation and its public sector

The Cabildo of Tenerife will provide professional internships to 450 students from the University of La Laguna (ULL) for the 2025-2026 academic year. This was announced by the President of the Island Corporation, Rosa Dávila, and the Vice President, Lope Afonso, at a press conference held after the Government Council meeting.

Rosa Dávila noted that the Government Council approved a new agreement today for students to carry out their internships at the Cabildo, in our areas, agencies, and public enterprises. These students come from 63 different degree programmes, reflecting the diversity of profiles and the enormous potential that exists in our public university.

These internships are the first step towards professional life, a bridge between classrooms and real employment, helping them to make decisions with greater confidence and experience. Additionally, the Government Council approved the agreement with the University of Granada so that its students can undertake internships at the Cabildo. This means that 25 universities and training centres trust the island corporation and its public sector as a welcoming space for the practical training of their students.

Thanks to these agreements, the Cabildo of Tenerife hosts nearly 600 university and vocational training students in its commitment to youth employment. In this regard, Dávila states that it is a priority because we want young people to see Tenerife as a place to grow, train, and build a solid professional future without having to leave.

For his part, Lope Afonso indicated that within the Department of Culture, the extension of the execution and justification periods for the ‘Sala de Arte La Recova (equipment)’ project, located in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, was approved. The project entails an investment of €960,408, which is financed equally by the Cabildo and the city council, and is part of the Cultural Infrastructure Plan 2016–2028.
