The Siam Mall shopping centre in Adeje (Tenerife) has resumed operations after a fire in a parked car in the underground car park necessitated the evacuation of all individuals present at the establishment, sources from 112 have reported to Efe.
Around 5:00 PM on Wednesday, an alert was received at the Emergency Coordination Centre and Safety (Cecoes) 112 that a vehicle parked in the underground car park was on fire, prompting the activation of the fire services.
Simultaneously, the private security members of the shopping centre ordered the evacuation as a precautionary measure.
The firefighters, who dispatched two teams to the shopping centre, extinguished the fire in the affected vehicle and confirmed that it did not spread to any others.
Additionally, the Canary Emergency Service sent two ambulances to the scene as a precaution, although the medical personnel did not need to provide any assistance.
Sources from 112 have indicated that after extinguishing the fire and ventilating the area, the shopping centre has returned to normal operations and resumed its activities.
