The festivities in La Laguna honouring San Benito Abad concluded with the historic event of this 2025 edition: the procession marking the Return of San Roque to his hermitage. The island livestock fair once again gathered thousands of attendees.
At 4:00 PM last Saturday, the procession commenced, accompanied by the musical support of the Banda de La Cuesta. The revered figure of San Roque was carried shoulder-high, taking a brief rest halfway through the procession. At this point, water and lemonade were distributed, which the devotees accompanying him appreciated.
Regarding the popular events, it was the Tenerife Agro-Livestock Fair FAGATE 2025 that closed this gathering at the Casa del Ganadero, attracting an impressive number of visitors.
Undoubtedly, this has been a memorable celebration, held with great splendour and participation. Nowadays, the festivities are more than just an event to observe; they are occasions to engage in, reviving traditions and devotions we thought had long been lost. Long live San Benito!
