The Canarian Beach Bar with Sea Views Recognised by the Repsol Guide: “Fresh Fish”

The sun gently sets over the coast, the sound of the sea lulls the downtime, and the aroma of freshly cooked fish fills the breeze.

In this corner of the Tenerife coast, life slows down to the rhythm of the waves, and the palate awakens with each bite.

There are places discovered by chance, recommended by a friend or after an aimless excursion. Others, however, gain official recognition for their attention to detail and authenticity. This is one of those places.

The Repsol Guide, a reference in national gastronomy, has awarded one of its Solete to this modest coastal establishment, highlighting its terrace with sea views and a menu that honours local produce.

Located in Punta del Hidalgo, in the municipality of La Laguna (Tenerife), this traditional restaurant has managed to win the hearts of locals and visitors alike.

Its name is Cofradía de la Punta, located at Camino Pescaditos, 2. Here, there are no secrets: success lies in the freshness of the product, the simplicity of the recipes, and an environment that invites you to linger for hours, with the ocean as a backdrop.

The Repsol Guide highlights its family-friendly and relaxed atmosphere, its sunny terrace, and above all, its commitment to fresh fish.

It’s not uncommon to see dishes that revolve around the day’s catches, brought in by local fishermen.

Among the most popular dishes are fried wrasse, crunchy moray eel, and shrimp, as well as specialities like octopus, stewed grouper, or Andalusian-style squid.

Everything is served generously, accompanied by wrinkled potatoes and homemade mojo, as tradition dictates.

This chiringuito is a clear example of how simplicity can be extraordinary when done well.

It doesn’t require luxury or pretensions: quality and authenticity are enough to make it an essential stop for those visiting the north of the island.

Cofradía de la Punta opens every day of the week, from 12:30 to 22:00, and it is common to see its tables filled during lunch or at sunset, when the sky and sea seem to merge in an unforgettable natural show.

This Solete Repsol not only rewards its cuisine but also a way of understanding life: calm, maritime, and always delightful.
