The Tenerife Firefighters have had a weekend of intense activity with numerous interventions across various parts of the island, including traffic accidents, vehicle and commercial fires, and rescues in areas of difficult access.
Monday
In the early hours of this Monday, the same teams were called again, at 3:30 am, for a fire declared in a shop located on Balcón del Atlántico street, also in the municipality of Arona. The fire, which started in the exterior awning of the premises, spread towards the interior of the establishment and threatened to reach a vehicle parked nearby. The firefighters managed to control the fire in collaboration with agents of the Local Police and personnel from the SUC.
Another notable intervention occurred at around 3:00 am this Monday in the municipality of Los Realejos, where firefighters from the La Orotava station acted to extinguish a car fire that ended up affecting two other nearby vehicles. The quick response of the emergency teams prevented the flames from spreading further. The operation involved the Local Police and the National Police Corps.
Sunday

Another of the most significant actions took place on Sunday night, in the municipality of Arona. At 10:55 pm, the firefighters from the San Miguel de Abona station were activated by the Tenerife Firefighters Coordination Centre via 112, after a traffic accident occurred on the TF-657 road. A vehicle with three occupants collided with a wall.

Two of the people involved were trapped inside the car and required extrication. One of them was unconscious, hence CPR was administered. The operation also involved the Guardia Civil and the Canary Emergency Service (SUC). The incident left a woman deceased.
The teams from the Santa Cruz station were activated this Sunday, at 11:35 pm, for a brush fire recorded in the Bufadero ravine, in the María Jiménez area. The blaze started in an area affected by cat’s tail.
That same day, at 5:30 pm, on El Ancón beach (La Orotava), the firefighters assisted in the rescue of a person showing signs of drowning. The victim was out of the water, vomiting and having breathing difficulties. The teams collaborated with the Local Police to facilitate access to the area and transfer them to the SUC ambulance.
At 1:25 pm on Sunday, the firefighters from La Laguna intervened in a vehicle fire on the TF-5 motorway, near the municipality of El Sauzal. Upon arrival, they began signalling the area and extinguishing the flames in collaboration with the Guardia Civil, Canary Police, Local Police, SUC, and Cabildo Roads personnel.
Saturday
On Saturday, at 10:25 pm, another vehicle fire occurred on the TF-5, this time involving firefighters from Santa Cruz. The team stabilised the wrecked vehicle and extinguished the blaze with the support of the Local Police and Guardia Civil.
Friday

Also on Friday, at 8:35 pm, firefighters from the Guía de Isora station took part in a mountain rescue in the municipality of Adeje. An elderly person suffered a fall in a ravine while walking their dog. The teams assessed the affected person at the scene of the accident and transported them to the SUC ambulance, in coordination with the Local Police and Adeje Volunteers.
That same day, at 1:20 pm, another group from the San Miguel station responded to a hiker who suffered heatstroke while hiking in the Malpaís de Rasca trail in Arona. The affected person was evacuated on a stretcher to the SUC ambulance with the help of the Local Police and the Guardia Civil.

Finally, at 12:15 pm, firefighters from Santa Cruz were mobilised due to the rollover of a vehicle on Avenida de la Constitución, in the capital of Tenerife. The teams carried out road cleaning tasks to address the oil and fuel spill. The intervention also involved the Local Police.
