What to Expect Weather-Wise in the Canary Islands This Saturday?

The Heavens will experience cloudy intervals in the northern regions of the mountainous islands, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, this Saturday. The day will offer clear spells during the central hours, while a moderate wind from the north will strengthen in the afternoon, becoming more intense at times, according to the State Meteorology Agency.

Regarding sea conditions, winds will generally blow from the north or northeast, ranging from force 3 to 5 along the coastlines to the west and east of the Islands. There will be Marejadilla or Marejada, with areas of strong swell observed in the Eastern province and in Tenerife. Furthermore, sea conditions in the northern or northwestern region may reach heights of between one and two metres.

Here is the island forecast for this Saturday:

Lanzarote

Cloudy intervals will give way to clear spells during the central hours. Temperatures will remain unchanged. Moderate North Wind.

Planned minimum and maximum temperatures (°C): Reef 18 25

Fuerteventura

Cloudy intervals with clear spells expected during central hours. Temperatures will either remain stable or see a slight increase. Moderate North Wind.

Planned minimum and maximum temperatures (°C): Puerto del Rosario 18 25

Gran Canaria

The north will see cloudy intervals with clear spells during central hours. Some cloudiness is expected to develop in the south by midday. Temperatures will change little. Moderate North Wind, becoming strong in the western and southeastern slopes.

Planned minimum and maximum temperatures (°C): Las Palmas de Gran Canaria 19 23

Tenerife

In the north, cloudy intervals will transition to clear spells during central hours. The south is likely to see increasing cloudiness by noon. Temperatures will not fluctuate significantly, though higher areas may experience some drops. A moderate north wind will intensify in the latter half of the day, particularly in the eastern slopes.

Planned minimum and maximum temperatures (°C): Santa Cruz de Tenerife 18 24

La Gomera

The north will experience cloudy intervals with clear spells emerging during central hours. The south is expected to become more overcast by midday. Temperatures will vary little. Moderate North Wind, with occasional strong gusts in the eastern and western ends.

Planned minimum and maximum temperatures (°C): San Sebastián de la Gomera 18 24

La Palma

In the north, cloudy intervals will likely see clear spells during central hours, with potential light rain at the day’s end. The south will gradually cloud over from midday, with sporadic rain also possible. Temperatures will remain largely stable. Moderate North Wind, with stronger gusts anticipated on the southeastern slope.

Planned minimum and maximum temperatures (°C): Santa Cruz de la Palma 15 24

El Hierro

Cloudy intervals in the north will transition to clear spells around central hours. The south is expected to see increased cloudiness by midday. Temperatures will remain fairly consistent. Moderate North Wind will become slightly stronger during the latter part of the day, especially on the southeastern slope.

Planned minimum and maximum temperatures (°C): Valverde 13 19
