The Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council, through its Public Services Department, is undertaking the development of a new public car park in the Chamberí neighbourhood, located in the South Costa District.

This initiative, which has an allocated budget of €97,285.59 and a proposed completion time of two months, aims to address a long-standing request from the local residents, as stated by the capital’s town hall.

The new facility will provide 62 parking spaces, which include 60 standard spots and 2 designated for individuals with reduced mobility (PRM).

The Mayor of Santa Cruz, José Manuel Bermúdez, emphasises the significance of this project as “a considerable enhancement in the living standards of the residents in this part of Santa Cruz.” He also noted, “This is a straightforward yet crucial measure that addresses the requests received and will assist in alleviating congestion in an area that has a substantial demand for parking.”

Carlos Tarife, the Councilor for Public Services, clarifies that “the project entails land preparation, the installation of curbs and pedestrian pathways, execution of the foundation with sub-base, a levelling layer and surfacing, as well as the installation of solar-powered lights, both vertical and horizontal signage, alongside the creation of tree pits and a landscaped area.”
