Rural accommodation reservations for Easter are already at 47% in the Canary Islands, according to data from Escapadarural, which adds that, by province, in Las Palmas it is at 54% and in Santa Cruz de Tenerife at 39%.
Meanwhile, in Spain as a whole the percentage has stood at 59%, six percentage points above the occupancy figure registered in 2021. Even so, the rural house portal has stated that at the beginning of April it will offer updated data to really know the final figures for rural reserves at Easter.
By autonomous communities, Navarra (80%), Extremadura (73%) and La Rioja (67%) are the three with the highest occupancy level today. Castilla y León (66%) and Aragón (65%) close the ‘top 5’. On the contrary, Madrid (47%) Galicia (44%) and Murcia (42%) are the communities with the lowest level of occupation.
By provinces, those that currently register the greatest demand for rural accommodation are Navarra (80%), Soria (77%), Álava (76%), Badajoz (75%) and Burgos (74%).
According to a survey prepared by EscapadaRural this week, 67% of rural travelers who plan to do rural tourism have not yet booked their accommodation, so the volume of occupancy is expected to increase in the coming weeks.
In addition, 57% of rural Easter getaways will be outside the autonomous community of residence, 29% will be within the community of residence but in another province, and 13% will be within the same province of residence.
