In other areas of the nation, instability accompanied by heavy rainfall is expected in the Northeastern Peninsula, the Galician Atlantic coast, and the Balearic Islands.
Madrid/Santa Cruz de Tenerife, APR. (Press Europa) –
The Canary Islands will experience cloudy intervals overall, with overcast skies primarily in the northern regions of the more mountainous islands. Light and sporadic rainfall cannot be ruled out, particularly in the southern interior of Tenerife and Gran Canaria during the afternoon, as per the forecast from the State Meteorology Agency (Aemet).
In Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, there remains a slight possibility of minimal and sporadic rain, though it is expected to be low.
Temperatures are anticipated to show little variation. Consequently, thermometers will register a maximum of 23 degrees in Gran Canaria and a minimum of 11 degrees on El Hierro. Winds will be moderate, blowing from a northern direction.
Across the rest of Spain
Simultaneously, Aemet forecasts instability within the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands on Monday due to rainfall that may be locally heavy along the Atlantic coast of Galicia, the Balearic Islands, and the Northeast Peninsula, where severe windstorms may also occur.
In greater detail, locally heavy rainfall is anticipated, occasionally accompanied by storms along the Galician coast, with weaker to moderate rains extending over the rest of the Atlantic shore.
In the Mediterranean region, thundery showers are likely, becoming more intense and accompanied by very strong gusts of wind in the northeastern quadrant of the peninsula, and similar thundery showers may persist in the Balearic Islands.
It is anticipated that in the latter part of the day, these conditions will intensify and disseminate throughout the remainder of the region; on one front in the form of showers affecting large expanses of the central plains and mountains, and on another due to the approach of a cold front from the northwest that will distribute rain across much of the northwestern peninsula.
Snowfall in the Northern Mountains is likely at elevations above 1,800-2,000 meters, dropping to 1,200-1,600 meters in the northwest. In the Canary Islands, cloudy intervals with light rain are anticipated in the north of the mountainous islands, with occasional light rain in the remainder.
Regarding maximum temperatures, these are expected to rise in the Cantabrian region and the southeast, while the northeastern peninsula and the Atlantic region will see decreases, particularly significant in parts of the northwestern interior.
Overall, minimum temperatures will decline, more noticeably in the western peninsula. There will be few thermal changes in the Canary Islands, although light frost may occur in the Pyrenees.
Winds will be gentle to moderate, from the south in the Balearic Islands and a westerly direction throughout the Peninsula. There will be westerly winds with intervals of strong, and possibly very strong gusts in the Strait, Alborán, and during the latter half of the day along the coast of Galicia and the Cantabrian Sea. Meanwhile, in the Canary Islands, moderate winds from the north are expected.
