On the previous day, the Santa Cruz City Council’s Governing Board approved the exit file for the tender concerning the private use of the kiosk-bar situated in Plaza del Príncipe. The proposed annual fee for this will be 12,000 euros, and the maximum lease term is set at 10 years. Furthermore, the details regarding the economic-administrative conditions and specific requirements that will govern the concession of the aforementioned public space were presented, noting that the improvement works will be undertaken by the new concessionaire, as stated by Mayor José Manuel Bermúdez.
Javier Rivero, the Councilor for Heritage, elaborated that “the works undertaken by the concessionary company will primarily focus on enhancing and rehabilitating the facilities. Generally, this will involve maintenance, repairs, and replacements for reasons relating to health, stability, accessibility, and aesthetics. Actions may be necessary regarding roofs, structures, enclosures, both external and internal coatings, pavements, and possibly more, including repairs to roofing, pergolas, electrical systems, lighting, telephony, plumbing, sanitation, air conditioning, as well as ventilation and/or gas extraction.”
When it comes to the roofing, waterproofing will either need replacing or redoing, and the metal structure will be assessed for potential damage requiring repair. Externally, the provision of chairs, tables, or parasols will be done in accordance with the Municipal Ordinance of the Urban Landscape.
