Madrid/Santa Cruz de Tenerife 6 Apr. (Press Europa) –
The Canary Islands are expected to experience mostly clear skies, apart from morning clouds along the coast and daytime cloudiness in the lower areas of the largest mountainous islands. Meanwhile, temperatures will remain fairly stable, with only slight increases in the interior sections of the northern slopes.
As a result, temperatures will range from a maximum of 24 degrees in Gran Canaria to a minimum of 13 degrees in El Hierro, as per the predictions from the State Meteorology Agency (AEMET).
Furthermore, the winds will be gentle to moderate, influenced by local breezes, predominantly blowing from the northeast in the more easterly islands and generally from a southerly direction elsewhere. During the latter part of the day, winds are predicted to strengthen considerably in La Palma, with gusty periods in exposed locations.
Weather in the rest of Spain
Across the rest of Spain, overcast conditions will prevail in many regions, although atmospheric stability across the peninsula will lead to a moderate rise in maximum temperatures except in the Mediterranean and Balearic areas.
Early morning forecasts indicate cloudy or very cloudy skies in the southwestern peninsula with light rain likely easing off during the day, resulting in clearer weather.
In other areas, particularly the peninsula and Balearic Islands, expect mostly cloudy to partially cloudy skies with prominent low cloud cover in the Atlantic and northern parts of the peninsula during the morning.
Additionally, evolving cloudiness is anticipated in the afternoon across the interior, with some light showers not being ruled out in the northeastern peninsula. Morning fog and mist are likely to develop in the Atlantic and north-west peninsula.
Maximum temperatures are forecast to see a moderate rise, aside from the Mediterranean and Balearic regions where minimal changes or slight declines are expected, particularly more pronounced along the northern Mediterranean coast.
Minimum temperatures will also rise slightly overall, with more significant increases expected in the mountainous areas of the south. Conversely, in the Pyrenees, a decrease in night-time temperatures is anticipated, along with generally weak frost conditions.
Winds will predominantly blow from the west and northwest across the Peninsula, remaining weak to moderate, with shifts to northeast throughout the day, featuring occasional stronger gusts.
In the Cantabrian region, eastern winds will be moderate in the western areas, while lighter winds will be felt in the rest. Along the Galician Atlantic coast, expect gentle southerly winds becoming slightly stronger by the end of the day.
