Discover Why Forbes Hails the Canary Islands as a Must-Visit Spanish Paradise

The Canary Islands possess locations that enchant all visitors. From the island of El Hierro to Lanzarote, the archipelago conceals incredibly beautiful spots that do not go unnoticed and due to their natural splendour, they captivate both locals and tourists alike. Recently, the esteemed Forbes magazine has included this stunning area of Tenerife on its list of ’15 places in Spain that you must experience’.

Founded in 1917, Forbes is a well-known business and finance magazine, recognised for its annual rankings of billionaires (the wealthiest individuals in the world or in Spain), as well as business assessments and coverage of entrepreneurship, technology, and leadership. It publishes insights regarding economic trends, business tactics, and broader topics such as health and travel, earning its reputation as one of the most influential publications globally.

This magazine ranks among the world’s most significant publications, thus, being featured in one of its rankings signifies achievement and esteem. Hence, Tenerife is fortunate to be included in the ’15 places in Spain that you must experience’, a claim that very few locations in Spain can assert.

Forbes Showcases Spain to Americans

“With over forty World Heritage Sites within Spain, a significant number of Michelin-starred restaurants, and some of the finest hotels worldwide, Spain offers unmissable attractions and experiences,” this Forbes publication begins, analysing locations in the country that are essential for visitors.

Journalist Ramsey Qubein notes, “According to UN tourism statistics, Spain was the second most visited nation globally last year (surpassing its record from the previous year by 10%), attracting guests from across the globe.” The expert provides comprehensive details, discussing access to the Iberian Peninsula and the islands from the American continent, alongside the events and other activities occurring here.

“An increasing number of flights to the Iberian Peninsula and significant events such as the Spanish Grand Prix and the first NFL game in the country (which will be held at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium) are generating even more interest,” Qubein remarks.

The 15 Enchanting Locations in Spain as per Forbes

Selecting merely 15 Spanish locations for a ranking is a challenging task as nearly any town or city in this country could qualify. Nonetheless, the journalist aimed to highlight his preferred spots. This was done by focusing on the unique beauty of certain monuments, the allure of the streets in particular cities, and the rich cuisine of specific regions.

Complete Forbes List:

  1. Saragossa
  2. Madrid
  3. Segovia(Alcázar de Segovia)
  4. Barcelona(Paseo de Gracia)
  5. Bilbao(Guggenheim Museum)
  6. Cádiz
  7. Valladolid(Ledomaine Retuerta Abadía)
  8. San Sebastián
  9. Cáceres(Old Town)
  10. Valencia
  11. Granada(Palacio de la Alhambra)
  12. Pamplona(San Fermín Festival)
  13. Santiago de Compostela(Cathedral)
  14. Seville(Seville Cathedral)
  15. Córdoba(Mosque – Cathedral)

Forbes Selects El Teide

It comes as no surprise that the location featured by this leading global magazine in rankings is Teide. Forbes has selected this destination due to its extensive range of cultural and leisure activities, exceptional accommodation options, including resorts, and primarily because of the favourable climate the islands enjoy all year round, making it appealing for winter travel. Americans can reach the Canary Islands via air connections from a city in the U.S., where they will discover everything promised in the article.

The journalist Ramsey Qubein shares the following about Tenerife:

“Tenerife is the largest of the Canary Islands and is home to this magnificent National Park and its majestic volcano, El Teide, the highest peak in Spain. If outdoor activities aren’t your preference, you’ll find beach resorts, various museums, and shops in the urban centre of Santa Cruz, particularly in the properties of Iberostar. Winter remains a favourable option.”

According to the journalist, Tenerife is the ideal island for American travellers, although it is important to note that any destination within the Canary Islands offers the perfect setting for Americans looking to unwind from their hectic lives.
