Santa Cruz de Tenerife, 7 Feb. (Europa Press) –
The Tenerife Auditorium will host the International Congress Digital Worlds this Friday and Saturday, a prestigious event showcasing animation, visual arts, and new effects within the national landscape, which anticipates the attendance of “top-tier” experts and aims to create new opportunities for professionals and enterprises on the island.
Over these two days, attendees will have the chance to share knowledge, uncover the latest trends, and enhance synergies in an ever-evolving sector. This was emphasised by the vice president of the Cabildo, Lope Afonso, in a statement affirming the commitment to talent, digital transformation, and the potential of creative industries as engines of development and growth.
Lope Afonso noted that Tenerife and the Canary Islands have “emerged as a significant hub of innovation and digital talent in Europe,” highlighting the importance of convening professionals, creatives, and visionaries who are shaping the future of the industry.
At this inaugural event in the Canary Islands, taking place in Tenerife, notable speakers include Juan Cañada, the technical director of Unreal Engine, the most widely used software in digital arts, who has been involved in various projects, including the Fornite video game.

Relationship with Training Centres
This new event also aims to strengthen the ties between the archipelago’s training centres and the realm of digital arts, with the goal of generating more and improved employment opportunities locally and fostering a growing ecosystem.
In this regard, students and instructors from the César Manrique, Felo Monzón, and La Guancha professional training centres will be involved, allowing them to engage in two days of training and discussion sessions with industry leaders in the digital arts field.
Moreover, a session will feature Canarian studios 3Double and Bwater, alongside Eliseo Martín, coordinator of the Animation Cycle, Video Games, and 3D at the César Manrique Centre, which has been awarded excellence by the Ministry of Education as the best audiovisual centre in Spain.
The inaugural edition of Canary Digital Worlds also enjoys the backing of the Cabildo de Tenerife and the Auditorium of Tenerife. Its organisation in the Canary Islands results from collaboration between the Canarian government and Proexca-Government Special Zone of the Canary Islands with the International Congress Digital Worlds, aimed at raising the profile of the Canary Islands and its industry within the European forefront of digital arts.
