Numerous organisations in the Canary Islands, particularly in the business sector, advocate for the implementation of a fee for tourists, with the intention of investing those funds in enhancements for the environment, landscape, and public services. However, some have not only expressed their support but have also begun to put this into practice. This is exemplified by four of the most iconic churches in Tenerife. The most recent to adopt the “symbolic contribution” is the parish of Our Lady of the Conception of the Orotava.
