Off-Duty Guards Nab Thieves in Bold Tenerife Car Theft Bust

Two off-duty Civil Guard officers apprehended an individual who was stealing from vehicles in Candelaria, Tenerife, during the early hours of the morning.

The officers were near the area where the vehicles were parked when they heard noises and noticed movements that appeared dubious. They discovered the individual now in custody unlawfully taking items from one of the parked cars, as reported by the Civil Guard.

Upon detaining him, they found that he was still in possession of several stolen goods, leading to his immediate arrest as the suspected perpetrator of multiple offences of burglary and theft from a vehicle.

The arrested individual has a recent criminal record for similar offences, the Benemérita further stated.

The stolen items are estimated to be valued at around 2,150 euros and include designer sunglasses, various clothing items, along with climbing and rescue gear.

The detainee has been handed over to the Candelaria Guard Court of Investigation along with the relevant proceedings conducted.
