SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 9 December (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Government of the Canary Islands has granted authorisation this Monday to formalise the agreement where the Department of Social Welfare, Equality, Youth, Children and Families delegates the Cabildo of Lanzarote with the responsibility of preparing psychological and social reports that will underpin the assessment for disability recognition, for a total amount of 32,462.58 euros.

In this manner, the Government continues to foster mechanisms that facilitate the swift processing of decisions concerning disability recognition, addressing the public and social interest achieved through its implementation, with the aim of ensuring this vital public service for the community on the island of Lanzarote.

Furthermore, the agreement’s objective encompasses the creation of reports concerning disability, including technical reports for officially protected housing, admissions to residential social and health facilities, and access and adjustments for employment roles, in addition to access to municipal assistance programmes, along with any other reports required for the multidisciplinary teams tasked with assessing and recognising disability levels.

This undertaking will be executed in collaboration with the multidisciplinary teams, which are organised both organically and functionally within the Disability Assessment Centre of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, a facility under the General Directorate of Disability, part of the Ministry of Social Welfare, Equality, Youth, Children and Families, as indicated by the Government in a statement.
