SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 8 Aug. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Agents of the National Police have arrested a 37-year-old man, with numerous police records, as the alleged perpetrator of seven crimes of robbery with force committed in just two months in hotel rooms and apartments in the towns of Adeje, Arona and Los Cristianos .
The National Police investigators received several complaints that presented similarities in terms of the physical description of the thief and his modus operandi. In all cases, at dawn, a young and thin individual dressed in sportswear entered by climbing, jumping walls or through the windows inside hotel rooms and apartments to seize the belongings of the tourists who rested inside. Sometimes he was surprised, but other times he ran away without the victims of the robbery noticing.
The goal of the ‘wall-crawler’ was cash, jewelry, fashion accessories or technological devices. In total, the damage it had caused amounted to more than 10,500 euros.
The investigators of the National Police, through multiple investigative steps, managed to identify the alleged perpetrator of the robberies with force.
Finally, days ago they managed to arrest him when he fled, jumping from balcony to balcony, from a hotel in the town of Adeje where he had allegedly just committed another robbery with force in a room.
At the time of his intervention, effects worth more than 1,000 euros were seized, which were subsequently recognized as their own by the victims.
The detainee, after being heard in a statement at the police station, was taken to court, ordering his admission to preventive detention. The actions were carried out by national police officers from the South Tenerife National Police Station.
