SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE 22 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The individual who is believed to have caused an accident this Monday near the Guajara Campus in La Laguna, resulting in a 23-year-old woman being critically injured, was apprehended on Tuesday morning.
Javier López, the sub-inspector of the Local Police, informed the media that the man had voluntarily surrendered at a police station after being accompanied by a relative.
The suspect, aged 32, originally from San Miguel de Abona but currently residing in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, fled the scene of the incident, leaving a companion behind.
Consequently, the Local Police of La Laguna initiated an investigation, which, in conjunction with the Local Police of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, led to the discovery of the vehicle a couple of hours later in the Cuesta Piedra neighbourhood.
The car was confiscated, and fingerprints along with physical evidence were collected by the Scientific Police of the National Police to facilitate identification.
