A seven-year-old child was rescued unconscious from a hotel swimming pool in Puerto de la Cruz.
The event took place on Sunday at 10:23 a.m., when the Emergency and Security Coordination Centre (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands received a call reporting that a minor had been saved from a hotel pool by a lifeguard, exhibiting signs of drowning and needing medical attention.
The 1-1-2 service promptly deployed the required emergency resources.
Personnel from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) assessed and aided the child, who was then transported in moderate condition via a medicalised ambulance to the Canary Islands University Hospital.
The local authorities compiled the necessary reports.
