SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 6th August (EUROPE PRESS) –
A 23-year-old man was apprehended yesterday afternoon in the municipality of Arona (Tenerife) by the Operational Response Group of the General Police Corps of the Canary Islands on suspicion of committing a domestic violence offence.
The apprehension transpired subsequent to a call received by 1-1-2, reporting a severe altercation between a brother and sister residing in the same family abode. The report indicated that the man had struck the woman on the head with a blunt instrument.
Upon arrival at the scene, law enforcement officials identified the victim, who was outside the residence accompanied by other family members in a distressed state. It was observed that she had sustained a head injury.
Subsequently, an ambulance was summoned to provide medical attention to the victim, who was then conveyed to the Hospital del Sur for evaluation and the formulation of the necessary injury report, essential for the accurate classification of the incident.
Given the presence of minors inside the family property during the assault, the relevant information was relayed to the Minor and Family Unit of the General Police Corps of the Canary Islands for validation and monitoring.
Subsequently, the perpetrator was taken into custody, and due legal processes were instigated with the individual presented for subsequent judicial action.
