In the early hours of Wednesday, the local police of Santa Cruz de Tenerife carried out the expulsion of a camp that was set up in a well-known park in the city centre.
According to the police report on the social platform X, a patrol issued reports of infractions and expelled four Swiss travellers who had spent the night in La Granja Park. This park, located in a central area, offers vast grassy areas for various sports activities and features a children’s playground, dog park, cafeteria, as well as hosting offices of the Santa Cruz City Council and the House of Culture.
Despite being a bustling area in the city centre, these visitors decided to set up hammocks tied to the trees and hang their clothes on makeshift clotheslines.
The police also stated that during the eviction, the tourists collected all their belongings left on the site.
