SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 14 July (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Tenerife Fire Brigade Consortium personnel are currently engaged in extinguishing a stubble blaze on Nateros Street in La Esperanza, situated in the El Rosario municipality of Tenerife.
As reported by the Emergency and Security Coordination Centre (Cecoes) 1-1-2, the fire originated on a piece of land, with additional support from the Tenerife Island Council.
The Tenerife Island Council upholds the prohibition on lighting fires in leisure and outdoor areas – including barbecues, open fires, heaters, or gas stoves – as well as the operation of any equipment or tools that might create sparks (such as brush cutters, welding gear, or circular saws), and the use of pyrotechnic materials in high-risk zones.
Smoking is strictly forbidden in leisure areas, camping sites, holiday parks, hiking trails, vantage points, and other public facilities situated in the mountains.
This decision has been taken in consideration of the prevailing weather conditions and the forest fire risk alert declared by the General Directorate of Emergencies of the Canary Islands Government on the island of Tenerife.
