The Festivities Department of the La Laguna City Council has opted to provide an additional one hundred tables for the San Benito Abad Magician’s Ball 2024, scheduled for July 12. This decision follows the booking of the originally planned 550 tables for this year’s event, which was achieved last Friday and marked a significant milestone in the event’s history.
Head of the Department, Dailos González, stated, “This decision was made in response to the high volume of requests received at the City Council after reaching the initial table capacity and ensuring that the security measures for the event are not compromised.”
Applications for these newly available spots can be submitted from tomorrow, Tuesday, starting at 9:00 p.m., on the website platform www.mueveticket.com, until the seats are filled. The booking system allows for selection of up to one table per person, each with eight seats, without determining the number of occupants per table (unless instructed by security personnel).
Dailos González also revealed that “these additional tables will be positioned along Marqués de Celada Street, bringing the celebration closer to the historic roots of San Benito Abad.” Lastly, he reminded that while having a reserved table is not obligatory for attending the Magicians’ Ball, traditional attire is mandatory.
“Surpassing 600 tables this year showcases the deep connection that the people of La Laguna have with this dance and the San Benito Abad Festival, which annually adorns our streets with vibrancy and traditions,” the councilor expressed.
The San Benito Abad Magician’s Ball 2024, themed ‘One dance, three environments’, will feature three distinct musical zones for the first time. The primary stage beneath La Concepción tower will host performances by folk groups Ixemad, Chisaje, Hespérides, and the University Folklore Association from 9:30 p.m. At 1:00 a.m., Atenia will perform in the same area but not on the stage, instead in the tower vicinity. A secondary stage on Marqués de Celada Street will see Los Muchachos entertain at 10:00 p.m., while the Revelación, Tropin, and Maquinaria orchestras will celebrate in the San Benito area from 10:00 p.m. onwards, continuing into the early hours.
