SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 17th June (EUROPA PRESS) –
A youthful trekker, aged 19, has sustained injuries after experiencing a fall near the Roque Bermejo lighthouse, in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, as communicated by the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center of 112 of the Canary Islands.
The incident took place this Sunday evening and the team from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) headed to the location. Upon reaching the area, they found that the individual had sustained lower limb trauma and was unable to continue her journey.
Consequently, she was airlifted by helicopter from the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) and was taken to Tenerife North airport where she was transferred by a basic life support ambulance from the SUC to the Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria Hospital.
Personnel from the Tenerife Firefighters Consortium, alongside officers from the Local Police and Natural Environment Unit of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, also attended the site of the occurrence.
