A person’s body was found this Sunday, 16th June, in the vicinity of the River York (United Kingdom) where the young man from Tenerife, Seth Martín, aged 31, disappeared four months ago.
The North Yorkshire Police reported that the discovery was made shortly after 15:15 on Sunday in the Ouse River near Landing Lane in York.
Despite the fact that formal identification of the body has not yet taken place, the police have informed the family of the young Canarian, who has been missing since 24th February. In fact, the family has issued a statement via the Instagram account @missingseth, where they have also made it clear that they are aware of the new information and are awaiting scientific tests to “confirm or deny this terrible news”.
The police have also clarified, in a statement, that “the death is not being treated as suspicious” and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
Furthermore, the police have sent a message of support to his relatives. “Our thoughts are currently with Seth’s family and friends”.
Gathering
The family had organised a demonstration for the 22nd of June in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, as well as in other European cities such as London or Amsterdam, which they have decided to postpone pending further information about the discovery.
