SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 9th June (EUROPA PRESS) –
Calling for a strong turnout in the European elections this Sunday, Canarian Coalition candidate for the European Parliament, Carlos Alonso, emphasised the importance of active participation. “We must ensure that voter apathy does not prevail, with more people abstaining than taking part in the electoral process. That is crucial,” stated Alonso following casting his vote.
The nationalist candidate highlighted the Canarian Coalition’s efforts to mobilise a significant portion of the electorate to come out and vote today. “Today, this mobilisation holds great significance. We have presence at all polling stations with monitors and representatives, aiding in the electoral process and encouraging voter turnout,” he stressed.
Carlos Alonso underlined that Europe “has its roots in the Canary Islands” and these elections hold immense importance for the region. “This large voter turnout is essential; people should vote keeping the islands in mind and recognising the European Union’s significance for the Canary Islands,” he expressed.
The Canarian Coalition candidate reiterated the importance of high voter turnout to enhance Canarian representation in Brussels. “Our priority is to encourage participation so that Canarian influence in Brussels is formidable and resilient. Therefore, we strongly advocate for voting and ensuring that abstention does not prevail today,” concluded Alonso.
