La Laguna is embracing its own version of the April Fair this weekend, a celebration of Andalusian culture organized by the April Fair association of Tenerife with the backing of the La Laguna City Council and the support of various companies in Tenerife. Following the success of last year’s edition, this event is now in its second year with the goal of becoming a staple in La Laguna’s festive calendar.
The Fair, taking place in the Parque de Las Mantecas, was inaugurated on Friday evening by the Festival Councillor, Dailos González, and the president of the Feria de Abril de Tenerife association, Miguel Guijarro. The opening ceremony included the lighting of the Arcade and a performance by the Calle Viana Flamenco Group. Councillors Fran Hernández, Carla Cabrera, and Carmen Luisa González were also present at the event.
On Saturday, the main activities and performances are scheduled, featuring a rumba workshop at 12:30 p.m., an equestrian display at 2:00 p.m., and a show by the Adonay Flamenco Group at 9:30 p.m. Throughout the day, there will also be various activities for children and families. The highlight of Sunday will be the grand raffle, with a cash prize of 300 euros to be won on the same day of the Fair.
