The subordinate is harsh on the lower-ranking player

Las Palmas Atlético continues to pursue the leader of the Canarian group of Tercera RFEF. The yellows, who thrashed (6-1) the bottom team, Union Puerto, stay three points behind the Tenerife subsidiary but with one less game played. Pau Ferrer, the top scorer in the category with 22 goals, scored a hat-trick.

The Castellón player opened the scoring after ten minutes. A handball inside the visitor’s box by Chars resulted in a penalty that the striker converted into 1-0. Eight minutes later, surprise. The Frenchman Shaheen took advantage of a rebound on the edge of the box, after a corner kick, to fire a well-placed shot that nestled close to the post of Álvaro Killane (1-1).

Despite the dominance of Las Palmas Atlético, they couldn’t break down the well-organized Union Puerto defense. The Majoreros held on until added time in the first half. A cross from Saliou from the end line was headed in by José Ángel to beat Álvaro with a high shot (2-1).

After the break, the UD subsidiary came out at the Siete Palmas stadium determined not to give the Majoreros any chances. In the 52nd minute, the yellows made it 3-1 with a curling shot from inside the area by Pau Ferrer that nestled in the top corner.

Things got even more complicated for Union Puerto with Darío’s expulsion just a minute after coming on. In the 65th minute, Pau Ferrer took advantage of a pass from Elías Romero to complete his hat-trick (4-1).

Shortly after, the yellows could have scored the fifth goal, but first Yadam Santana, who was denied by a great save from Álvaro, and then his teammate Johan, were not able to convert.

Las Palmas Atlético overwhelmed Union Puerto in search of a more emphatic result. In the 79th minute, Iván Medina joined the goal-scoring party with a shot from inside the box that touched Chars and found the back of the net. Shortly after, the Gran Canarians completed the rout with an easy finish by Elías after a right-wing assist from Hiromi.
