The first section of the new pedestrian circle at the Padre Anchieta roundabout has just docked at the port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Transported all the way from the port of Seville, this 10-ton, over 30 meters long, curvilinear structure necessitated a special assembly process by both sea and land.
This groundbreaking installation will play a key role in easing traffic congestion at a critical juncture of the Northern Highway (TF-5), while ensuring pedestrian safety in the area.
Tonight, a transfer operation to La Laguna will commence, accompanied by a police escort, and is expected to take a lengthy eight hours, potentially causing disruptions to traffic flow. The transfer is projected to conclude around six in the morning.
The colossal structure will be transported by a 38-meter-long, 47-ton truck.
