Tenerife B emerged victorious over Panadería Pulido San Mateo (4-2) to widen their lead at the top of the Canary Islands group in the Tercera RFEF, taking advantage of their direct rivals who had their matches from the 26th round postponed due to adverse weather conditions.
The reserve team took the lead with a goal from Salifo, but saw the Gran Canarian team quickly equalize through Chiqui. After half-time, Dawda and Fabricio once again put the home team in the lead. In injury time, the oranges rekindled their hopes through Ismael (92′), but Cacho from La Palma secured the eighteenth victory for the Tenerife side in the 94th minute.
The first warning from Tete came before the quarter-hour mark with a powerful shot from Ethyan, after a pass from César, which was cleared off the line by Uday just as the ball was about to enter Ale Medina’s goal.
Following that, San Mateo replied with a solo effort from Alejo: his shot from outside the box was held in two attempts by the reliable Moha Ramos. Before reaching the midway point of the first half, the blanquiazul reserve team scored the opening goal through a play where César, from the end line, passed back for Salifo to score.
Without time to catch their breath, San Mateo restored parity, taking advantage of a defensive error from the Tenerife player Mati that Chiqui capitalized on in the final moments.
In the second half, Tenerife B once again took the lead thanks to goals from Dawda (52′) and Fabricio (65′). Everything seemed settled, but Ismael’s goal added spice to the clash in the 92nd minute. The excitement did not last long, as Cacho scored the definitive 4-2 in the 94th minute.
