SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 18th March (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Cabildo of Tenerife has expressed its approval for the proposal to establish a Law to Support Young Entrepreneurs.

This decision was made during a meeting on Monday attended by the president of the island’s council, Rosa Dávila; the Minister for Youth and Training, Serafín Mesa; the Minister for Commerce and Business Support, Krysten Martín; and the president of the Association of Young Entrepreneurs (AJE), Agoney Melián.

Rosa Dávila emphasises in a statement the significance of “equipping the young people of the islands with the necessary resources to start their own businesses and pursue their life goals, which can be achieved by facilitating access not only to financing but also to certain incentives.”

Consequently, she states, “the Cabildo of Tenerife will provide its support for the advancement of this legislation in the Parliament of the Canary Islands, ensuring that it includes all the facilities that young entrepreneurs in the Canary Islands require to have equal opportunities as those living on mainland territories.”

Serafín Mesa expressed his backing for the proposed law and stressed that in Tenerife, there is “a great desire and many young people eager to start businesses, and it is the responsibility of public institutions to provide them with the necessary tools to support their ventures.”

Krysten Martín underlined that the legislation addresses the demands of young entrepreneurs and stated that “the meeting has been very positive and fruitful,” establishing a shared commitment to addressing the challenges they face and working together “to support this law and implement policies that align with these goals.”

Agoney Melián, on his part, expressed gratitude to the Council for endorsing the legislation.

“It has been very beneficial for us to present this law before the Cabildo, and we hope for collaboration not only in passing this legislation but also in implementing policies that can benefit all the talented young individuals who aspire to start businesses in Tenerife,” he elaborated.

The law represents an innovative initiative aimed at supporting, representing, and assisting young entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial potential on the islands, from the inception of a business project to its growth and establishment, as highlighted by the Cabildo.

This initial proposal sets out a range of creative measures tailored to the specific requirements of young entrepreneurs in the Canary Islands.
