The maritime area between Tenerife and Gran Canaria experienced a turbulent early morning. During that time, three seismic tremors were detected by the National Geographic Institute.
The strongest one occurred around 6:15 in the morning, near the location of the well-known Enmedio Volcano, situated between both islands. This volcano is slightly closer to Tenerife and has an extraordinarily large base, with a three-kilometre diameter. The intensity measured 2.8 mbLg.
The last tremor of the early morning was registered at around 6:46 in the morning, with a magnitude of 1.9 mbLg, also located near the Enmedio Volcano, but this time closer to the coast of Gran Canaria.
The initial seismic activity occurred on the coast near San Isidro, in the southern municipality of Granadilla de Abona. This tremor measured 1.9 mbLg and happened around 2:27 in the morning.
