The Unión Sur Yaiza continues its pursuit of the leader of the Canarian group of Tercera RFEF, Tenerife B, who leads the conejeros by four points, with the UD Lanzarote. Maxi Barrera’s team secured their third consecutive victory against a direct rival for the top spots, Panadería Pulido San Mateo, who are fifth and are failing to keep up with the top four. Emiliano Trovento, before the quarter-hour mark, sealed the fate of the naranjas (1-0). The Argentine player secured the result that would ultimately be definitive in the 13th minute, executing a direct free-kick to place the ball by the second post.
The verdinegros were close to extending their lead with a clear opportunity in which Adán Cabrera headed wide. Towards the end of the first half, San Mateo grew in search of an equalizer but found themselves up against a secure Lanzarote side.

After the break, Panadería Pulido took control against a Yaiza side unable to snatch the ball from the visitors. In the 52nd minute, a close-range shot by Pedro Manzi was thwarted by goalkeeper Nauzet Pérez, with the rebound falling to Dailos for a second shot that was cleared by a local defender to prevent the goal. Ten minutes later, the conejero team responded with a shot from Argentine player Emiliano Trovento from outside the area, which was saved, in two attempts, by Álex Medina.
In the 70th minute, Isma Pérez connected a header from a corner that was cleared by Nauzet Pérez. Shortly after, the verdinegros’ goalkeeper shone again after a shot from Javi Martínez. In the final stretch, Panadería Pulido San Mateo exerted absolute dominance, but the home side showed their experience to secure a vital triumph.
