In the southern municipality of San Miguel de Abona in Tenerife, two children aged seven and five, as well as an adult, were injured in a road accident on Mencey Güímar Street.
The Emergency and Security Coordinating Center of the Government of the Canary Islands (Cecoes 1-1-2) reported that the incident took place a few minutes before 9:00 a.m. when a vehicle struck multiple individuals in the Las Chafiras area.
The 1-1-2 immediately mobilized emergency resources to the scene of the accident.
Medical personnel from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) provided assessment and assistance to the three individuals involved in the incident. Subsequently, they were transferred to hospitals for further treatment.
Upon initial assessment, the seven-year-old sustained a severe lower limb injury and was transported by sanitized ambulance to Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria University Hospital.
The five-year-old suffered minor lower limb injuries and was also transported by sanitized ambulance to Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria University Hospital as a precaution.
Lastly, the 52-year-old adult sustained moderate upper limb injuries and was transported by basic life support ambulance to Hospital del Sur.
Following the incident, local police managed the traffic flow and conducted the necessary investigation.
