SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Jan. 23 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The mayor of Buenavista, Eva García, met this Tuesday with the subdelegate of the Government, Jesús Javier Plata, to address the security situation in the municipality and the increase in robberies, especially in the hamlet of Masca and various points on the coast. , and that have generated a “climate of growing concern” among the population.

“Buenavista del Norte maintains an exponential growth in the number of visitors who enjoy our tourist attractions, however, there has been a negative impact in that there have been thefts and robberies inside vehicles, mainly from tourists. , and especially focused on areas such as the Masca hamlet and bathing areas of the municipality,” the mayor says in a note.

Likewise, there are also some specific events of concern regarding robberies inside homes and some commercial establishments “that create that insecurity and that social alarm that has nothing to do with the image that a municipality offers as open and hospitable, with many potentialities.” , he details, also underlining that many families opt for Buenavista “as the best place to live and watch” their children grow.

Among the demands presented was the need to increase the number of actions in the area, which reinforce the services provided by the Buenavista del Norte Civil Guard Post, as it is “very necessary and in demand” and “key” in the joint collaboration that it maintains with the Local Police.

The subdelegate agreed on the importance of the services provided by the Civil Guard and endorsed that “coordination” with the Local Police is “fundamental.”

“This collaboration facilitates the exchange of information, resources and strategies, thus optimizing the capacity for prevention and response to crimes or emergencies,” he indicated.

He also showed his willingness to “stand alongside the local administration and work hand in hand to respond to citizens, who expect institutions to respond to their demands and address the security problems that affect them.”
