The Cabildo of Tenerife will allocate 26 million for the rehabilitation and completion of the expansion works of the building annexed to the island Palace, which will also include the garage, according to the island president, Rosa Dávila, who announced that the first step was approval yesterday by the Governing Council of the tenders of the construction directorates for the restoration of the façade and the interior of the building for an amount of 1.4 million.
It is a property of more than 5,600 square meters that “had to be vacated at the end of 2013” and whose works were paralyzed in 2019 “when structural problems were found that forced the building to be emptied,” recalled Rosa Dávila. “It is an important project,” she emphasized in this regard.
This tender will be structured in five years (2024-2028). After the competition of the work directorates for the restoration of the façade and the interior of the property, “we will soon bring out the tender for the works, for about 14 million,” explained the island president, who pointed out that “later” the tender will come. of the drafting of the garage project, integrated into the annex building and whose work will involve a total budget of 12 million.
Likewise, Rosa Dávila announced that the Government Council also approved yesterday the proposal to award the Enrédate sin machismo project to the company Bencomia Educación Ambiental SL. An initiative that aims to prevent gender violence, mainly in adolescent and young couples, and that has a budget of 268,000 euros and a period of 24 months to carry out actions in 14 educational centers and one center for minors.

On the other hand, the insular vice president, Lope Afonso, announced some of the novelties with which Tenerife will attend the Fitur tourism fair that will be held in Madrid starting next Wednesday, such as the presentation of the Gran Hotel Taoro project or the concert by Ed Sheeran, among others.
Likewise, he indicated that there will be an “intense” agenda of meetings with tour operators, airlines and the accommodation sector. And he highlighted that we are facing an “exciting” year in terms of connectivity with the national market, with Binter’s new direct route with Madrid, and that “we will also have meetings with international companies” to reach “potential” markets.
