According to the account of the events offered by this woman’s daughter, she was taken by ambulance to her home on the morning of December 27 after receiving a medical discharge.
When they took her out of the ambulance, the transporters placed her in a chair but did not tie her, and when they were taking her up the stairs of her porch, she fell.
They picked her up, placed her back in the chair and left her at her home without reporting the incident to the ambulance chief or the emergency service, according to the daughter’s story.
After an hour, a family member realized that her knee was swollen and began to feel drowsy, so she called the emergency service requesting an emergency doctor, who examined her and determined, together with the assistance of a doctor, telephone that his transfer to the emergency room was necessary.
Once he arrived at the hospital and after performing various tests, it was determined that he suffered from a distal femur fracture, respiratory deterioration of unknown cause, and neurological deterioration of unknown cause, according to the same source, which is echoed by the Patient Ombudsman in his complaint. before the Prosecutor’s Office.
“All these events,” adds the daughter’s story, “conclude on January 5, 2024 with the death of the patient.”
The Patient Ombudsman emphasizes that this type of situation “should not be repeated” and requests that the Prosecutor’s Office “investigate what happened and the mode of action of the Tenerife ambulance contract.”
