SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, December 20 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Government of the Canary Islands has launched the ‘Consume in the municipalities affected by the Tenerife fire’ campaign, with which 54,000 consumption vouchers will be issued with the aim of reactivating commercial activity in these towns after the fire last August. .

The campaign was presented today, Wednesday, by the vice president and counselor of Economy, Industry, Commerce and the Self-employed of the Government of the Canary Islands, Manuel Domínguez, and the counselor of Tourism and Employment, Jessica de León, together with the president of the Federation of Urban Areas of Canary Islands (Fauca), Abbas Moujir.

Manuel Domínguez highlighted, during his speech, that the implementation of these bonds responds to a commitment made last September by the Government of the Canary Islands with the commerce sector: “The environmental recovery of the affected areas is important, but also “It is to support the local businessman and stimulate consumption.”

The novelty of this campaign is that, for the first time, restaurant establishments are included. The Minister of Tourism and Employment, Jessica de León, emphasized, for her part, the need to buy from local businesses due to “the essential role it plays in the economy and in job creation.”

The president of Fauca, Abbas Moujir, insisted that the bonus formula “is a complete success for commerce and for consumers” and advocated continuing to carry out this type of campaigns “which are so well received in society and in the sector”.

Also present at the presentation were mayors and Commerce councilors from the eleven municipalities that will star in this campaign.

THE CAMPAIGN IN FIGURES

This initiative has a budget of 600,000 euros, will be coordinated by the general directorates of Commerce and Consumption, and Tourism Planning, Training and Promotion of the Government of the Canary Islands and will be managed by Fauca.

Establishments and commercial premises in the eleven municipalities affected by the fire will be able to join this program starting tomorrow, Thursday. The campaign will run until March 31 next year. The bonds, a total of 54,000, will go on sale next December 27, at 10:00 a.m., on the platform www.bonoconsumotf.com.

The system and conditions of use of these bonuses are the usual ones. The user pays 10 euros for the voucher, although its face value will be double, that is, 20 euros. If a consumer buys 10 vouchers, which is the maximum per person, he will pay 100 euros, but can buy 200 euros worth.

The same user may redeem several vouchers in a single purchase, and it will be necessary to present the DNI before payment at the establishment, as well as the voucher in printed or digital format. Each establishment has a maximum spending limit of 3,000 euros, so the vouchers can be used until the establishment’s balance is exhausted and before the end of the campaign, set for March 31, 2024.

The vouchers can be purchased by any user, although they can only be exchanged in establishments in the eleven municipalities affected by the fire: Güímar, Arafo, El Rosario, Candelaria, Tacoronte, El Sauzal, La Matanza de Acentejo, La Victoria de Acentejo, Santa Úrsula, Los Realejos and La Orotava.
