SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, December 13. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The president of the Cabildo of Tenerife, Rosa Dávila, reported this Wednesday of the restart of the processing of the files of the Teno and Anaga marine reserves that had been “stuck in drawers” for more than 20 years and “paralyzed” by the Ministry of Ecological Transition.
In a press conference to report on the agreements of the Government Council, he defended the corporation’s “decided drive” to move forward with these two files that will be coordinated from the Fisheries and Environment areas.
The president has pointed out that the objective is to “protect” the seabed and recover the “importance” that the fishing subsector has on the island.
In this sense, he has valued the deployment of the ‘Ocean Census’ project to ‘map’ the seabed and discover new marine species in order to help protect them since you cannot protect what you do not know.
