Bavaria Fiction, one of the most relevant production companies in Europe, records in Tenerife forever summer –suggestive name given the tropicalization of the climate on the Island–, a German series that will be seen by five million viewers per episode in the German country. The keys to the choice have been the tax advantages, the climate, the diversity of scenarios and the professionalism of local talent. For these reasons, From last December 6th until December 4th the recording takes place with the premiere scheduled for the fall of 2024 on the first channel of the German public television ARD. The production manager, Stephan Bechtle, values these benefits, as well as the work of the support companies (service).

Afonso highlights that “the recording confirms the good moment in audiovisual production this year, overcoming global difficulties, and contributes to strengthening the local business fabric and the creation of jobs.”
The CEO of Tenerife Tourism, Dimple Melwani, adds that “the Island is consolidating itself as a reference destination for audiovisual productions thanks to a solid ecosystem of local service companies and qualified professionals.” To that we must add, she explains, “the transportation companies, catering companies, etc.” In addition to it, she emphasizes, “factors such as the excellent temperature or a unique variety of landscapes.”

The CEO recalls that the Island hosted 122 filming events last year, which generated more than 9,600 jobs – 12 percent more than in 2021 – and an expense at the destination of 101 million euros.
In this shoot, Bavaria Fiction has the local production company Seven Island Films, as well as Canary Pictures Vehicles as a scene vehicle services and production support company. In terms of personnel, it has hired 70 local professionals, as well as 300 extras.
Among the locations chosen by the production company are El Médano, and in general, Granadilla de Abona; facilities of the University of La Lagunaor the Port of Los Cristianos, for which the Port Authority or the Association of the Elderly of the southern town have collaborated.
Forever summer –Für Immer Sommer by its title in German– is a dramatic-criminal series in which a young police officer is transferred to Tenerife as part of the police collaboration between both countries. Directed by renowned director Michael Rowitz, it features popular actress Anke Retzlaff in the lead role, accompanied by Félix Herzog, known for his work in Elite.
