SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Nov. 24. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Minister of Education, Vocational Training, Physical Activity and Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands, Poli Suárez, and the accidental mayor of Granadilla de Abona, Óscar Delgado, visited the CEIP Los Abrigos this Friday, whose classes have been suspended due to technical recommendation .

The Ministry has reported that the measure is due to the detection of deficiencies in the basement of one of its buildings (the so-called sanitary chamber) coinciding with a specific breakdown, which does not put the safety of the property at risk, whose stability has not been seen. neither committed. However, it will require urgent works to be carried out, so that the center can return to normal as soon as possible.

At this time, Education and the City Council are looking for options to relocate students as long as necessary, and over the next few hours families will be informed in more detail.

For now, it is confirmed that there will be no class on Monday either due to the difficulty of accommodating the 302 students at the center (79 in kindergarten and 223 in primary school), and the feasibility of at least the older ones being studied on Tuesday. telematic modality.

In addition, an urgent plenary session will be called to approve the transfer to the Ministry of municipal facilities in which, if necessary, school activities can be resumed while the work is started or carried out.
