The Sea and Mountain Tapa Routedriven by Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council, began this Thursday in more than 50 restaurant establishments in the municipality. This was announced by the CEO of the Development Society, Carmen Pérez, who explained that “within the framework of the work to promote and disseminate chicharrera gastronomy, we are starting with a new tapas route, this time dedicated to products coming from the sea and the mountains.”
In this sense, Pérez has reported that “the gastronomic proposals must be made with products from the Canary Islands, local products, and/or the Anaga Massif and must have a name and description,” and added that “the operation will be similar to the from previous editions, that is, tapas with a drink at a price of 4 euros.”
“We have again a webapp already operational in www.degustalatapasantacruz.com, in which we centralize all the information about this new route, where you can consult the participating establishments, schedules, location, ingredients and where you can also vote for the best gastronomic proposals,” said Pérez. The CEO of the Development Society highlighted that “this voting system will allow us to determine the three best tapas, which will be distinguished with a diploma, and we will also reward three users who register their votes through said webapp”.
“Among the more than fifty tapas, some stand out, such as Auyama Real Food, which consists of a small timbale based on sweet potato and cod crumbs with caramelized onion, with a pico de gallo and a touch of EVOO, cilantro and vinegar. balsamic; or Kazoku Izakaya, which consists of bluefin tuna tartar, marinated in tamarind jam, avocado cream, tartufata and masago arare pearl topping,” explained Pérez, who added that “there is a wide variety of proposals with a very high quality, so we encourage citizens to taste these preparations.”
“In the last edition, almost 60 establishments from Santa Cruz and the webapp “It registered more than 14,600 visits, more than 2,600 unique users were counted, and almost 1,000 votes were counted to determine the winning gastronomic proposals, so this technological solution once again proved to be a very useful tool,” said Carmen Pérez, who concluded by encouraging the fabric of gastronomic establishments in the capital to join the Mar y Montaña Tapa Route “since it is an additional way to promote their premises and position themselves before thousands of potential consumers.”
The “Tapa Sea and Mountain Route” is included in Line of Action 10 Anaga Smart Destination of the Sustainable and Integrated Urban Development Strategy “Anaga in the heart – Santa Cruz de Tenerife”, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER), within the framework of the Pluriregional Operational Program of Spain (POPE) 2014 – 2020, and by the City Council of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
