SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Nov. 15 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The president of the Parliament of the Canary Islands, Astrid Pérez, will inaugurate this Thursday the ‘Statutory Conferences’, on the occasion of the V Anniversary of the Reform of the Statute of Autonomy, related to the Economic and Fiscal Regime (REF) of the archipelago.
This meeting, called ‘The challenge of the REF’, will bring together experts in economics and taxation, as well as deputies from all parliamentary groups, who will address issues such as the current situation of the REF or the evolution of the Reserve for Investments in the Canary Islands (RIC).
The opening will be led by the president of the Parliament of the Canary Islands starting at 10:00 a.m. in the Europa Room.
At around 10:15 a.m. a round table on ‘Analysis of the REF’ is currently planned with the participation of the Commissioner of the Economic and Fiscal Regime of the Canary Islands, José Ramón Barrera; the president of the Economic and Social Council of the Canary Islands, José Carlos Francisco; the tax advisor and account auditor Pedro González de Chaves, and the economist Fermín Delgado.
The program includes the conference ‘Evolution of the RIC towards greater legal certainty: analysis of some controversial points’, by Roque Florido Caño, regional inspector attached to the Regional Inspection Unit of the Delegation of the State Tax Administration Agency ( AEAT).
The director of the REF Chair at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Salvador Miranda Calderín, will later detail ‘Where is the RIC going?’
The day will conclude with a debate of all parliamentary groups entitled ‘The REF in a parliamentary key’, with Manuel Hernández Cerezo, from the Canario Socialist Group; José Miguel Barragán, from the Nationalist Group; Fernando Enseñat, from the Popular Group; María Esther González González, from Nueva Canarias-Bloque Canarista; Nicasio Galván, from Vox; Melodie Mendoza, from the Gomera Socialist Group and Raúl Acosta Armas (AHI), from the Mixed Group.
