One more year, and there are already 20 editions, The Orotava yesterday it celebrated its already more than consolidated Science Fair, which brought together a multitude of people in the Plaza de la Constitution under the objective with which it was born, bringing science, in an entertaining way, to the street.
Thus, between 10:30 and 18:30, adults and children alike were able to enjoy scientific and technological workshops, demonstrations, mathematical games, sun observation, educational robotics, scientific experiments, crazy science, magic and interesting talks. A set of activities that were added to the information stands of research centers and companies. In addition, this year a children’s area was launched with specific activities for children under 3 years of age. And he also highlighted a space for the analysis of the last forest fire, along with many other surprises, such as being able to send radio signals and messages to space.
On this day, the book by journalist Verónica Pavés Blas Cabrera, a magnetic life, was also presented, and an interesting activity called Ferments and Experiments returned. On the other hand, a novel and complementary activity to the fair has been the creation of the La Orotava Science Fair awards, whose winners in this first edition have been the parasitologist Basilio Valladares, the journalist Carmen del Puerto and the Physics professor Miquel Hernandez.
In the presentation of the 20th edition of this meeting, last week, the mayor, Francisco Linares, valued the consolidation of the fair, one of the oldest in Spain and the only one in the Archipelago with these characteristics. A unique project that has made it possible to bring science, in a fun and interesting way, to the whole family.
