SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Nov. 8 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The vice president of the Cabildo de Tenerife and Minister of Tourism, Lope Afonso, announced this Wednesday an investment of 550,000 euros to create a digital tourism platform that allows “to connect Tenerife digitally and help it transform into a smart destination, thus responding to the challenges of the next decade”.

Thus, an amount of 550,000 euros was approved for the tender for the service for the development, implementation and launch of a digital tourism platform through an open procedure (subject to harmonized regulation) and financed with Next Generation funds through the Recovery Plan, Transformation and Resilience.

Within the area of ​​Natural Environment, Sustainability and Security and Emergencies, the Government Council approved an investment of 1.4 million euros for the opening of a runway in Chorro, in Taganana, which will serve an important area dedicated mainly to the cultivation of vineyards, in addition to other fruit trees and dryland crops.

In this way, the order was approved for the public company Gesplan to carry out these works, which will last 12 months.

In the area of ​​Mobility, the renewal of the agreement with the Los Realejos City Council was approved for the provision of on-demand transportation in accessible shared-use taxis during the period 2023-2024. The initiative, which involves an investment of approximately 55,000 euros, facilitates the mobility of residents of certain areas of the northern municipality.

Within the area of ​​Employment, Education and Youth, the date of celebration of the Regional Crafts Fair was approved, which will take place from December 5 to 10 at the Tenerife Fairgrounds.

Likewise, the recognition of tribute to the Pottery Centers of Tenerife was approved on the occasion of the celebration of ‘Insular Crafts Day 2023’.

In matters of Sports, the Governing Council approved the bases and the call for financial subsidies intended for sports clubs, sports federations and individual athletes for Travel Assistance to official national and international sports competitions within the period between 1 May 2023 and December 31, 2023 for an amount of 460,000 euros.

In addition, the agreement with the Santa Úrsula City Council was approved to make improvements to the José Álvarez Gutiérrez wrestling arena and the La Corujera Sports Center for an amount of 160,000 and 96,000 euros, respectively.
