The Lagunero councilor responsible for Works and Infrastructure, Adolfo Cordobés, added that “this project will benefit the citizens of the island and the many visitors who pass through the city center every day and, at the same time, the commercial and restoration that have been carrying out their activity on this road without traffic for several years now.”
Cordobés asked for understanding and apologies in advance to the merchants, neighbors and users of the Municipal Public Library of La Laguna ‘Adrián Alemán de Armas’ for the inconvenience derived from these interventions.
The materials chosen for this pedestrianization will be similar to those used throughout the historic center, giving continuity to the image of the most emblematic streets of La Laguna. In addition, these works will be used to bury the pipes of all the services that are currently in the area (lighting, telephone or low voltage) and the work will be crowned with perimeter sidewalks in accordance with pedestrian traffic.
