He port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife received the inaugural visit of the cruise ‘Norwegian Dawn‘ this Wednesday, with 2,197 passengers and 1,024 crew members on board. Luz Marina Espiau, the top Commercial Manager of Ports of Tenerifehad the honor of presenting the ship’s captain, Ronny Borg, with the traditional commemorative metope of this first visit.
He ‘Norwegian Dawn‘ is owned by the shipping company Norwegian Cruise Line and is consigned in Tenerife by Intercruises. This majestic cruise ship, flying the Bahamas flag, impresses with its dimensions, reaching a length of 294 meters, a beam of 32 meters and a volume of 92,250 GT.
Regarding its itinerary, the ship arrived at the South Dock around 11:00 a.m. from Lisbon and will depart tonight at 11:00 p.m. to the port of La Luz in Gran Canaria. This trip is part of an itinerary that also includes stops in Arrecife, Agadir, Casablanca, Cádiz, Motril, Ibiza, Palma de Mallorca and Valencia.
Norwegian Dawn is not alone
This morning, the port welcomed three cruise ships in total: the ‘Norwegian Dawn’, the ‘Seabourn Sojourn’ and the ‘Mein Schiff 1’. The ‘Seabourn Sojourn’, consigned by Hamilton y Cía and flying the Bahamas flag, arrived at 07:00 hours from Arrecife and will depart for the port of La Estaca in El Hierro at 20:00 hours.
For its part, the ‘Mein Schiff 1’, also consigned by Hamilton y Cía and flying the Maltese flag, arrived from Praia to the port of Santa Cruz at 08:00 and will depart for the port of San Sebastián de La Gomera at 10:00 p.m.
In the remainder of this month, two more cruise ships are scheduled to arrive in Santa Cruz de Tenerife: the ‘Azura’ will arrive on October 26 and the ‘Spitsbergen’ is scheduled for October 27.
