The historic center of La Laguna will host on Tuesday, October 31, the celebration of a new edition of the Skull Island Tenerife Zombie Walka fun event aimed at audiences of all ages organized by the Canary Islands Fantastic Film Festival City of La Lagunawith the sponsorship of the municipal Corporation, through the Culture area of the City Council.
This Friday, October 20, the presentation of the proposal took place, in which the co-director of the Festival, Daniel Fumero, and the mayor of La Laguna, Luis Yeray Gutiérrez, participated, who reiterated the municipal support for this initiative, which has been consolidated among the La Laguna population since its premiere and which, for sure, will repeat the success of its last edition.
One more year, the “undead” will invade the streets of the city in this long-awaited family leisure activity. The popular actor and comedian Aaron Gomez will repeat as master of ceremonies of this meeting zombie with animation, in which the band Crearte Unión Musical de Tejina, the troupe Los Joroperos and Renzzo El Selector will also participate, and which will have a gastronomic space of food trucks.
As part of All Saints’ Eve, the Plaza del Adelantado will host the free makeup tents that, starting at 5:00 p.m., will open to the public to characterize as the classics zombiesor “living dead” popularized by cinema, television, comics and fantastic literature to anyone who wants to participate in the fourth edition of Skull Island Tenerife Zombie Walk. They can also come dressed in costume and made up from home.
This will be the starting point of the “march zombie”, which will start at 8:00 p.m. and will consist of the route of all participants in the direction of Plaza de la Concepción through Obispo Rey Redondo Street and back to the starting point along Herradores Street. Once the parade is over, the most dedicated participants will be rewarded on the stage displayed in the Plaza del Adelantado. There will be three categories, Best Zombie (clothing), Best Walker (performance zombie) and Best Group, as well as several special mentions.
