The Minister of Highways of the Cabildo of Tenerife, Dámaso Arteaga, has confirmed that “next week” the “first piles” will arrive on the Island on which the pieces of the future pedestrian walkway of the Padre Anchieta roundabout will be placed. one of the main accesses to La Laguna, with the expectation of beginning to install them “next week”, that is, starting on the 16th of this month. “This is the first step to begin to see how the catwalk will take shape in the coming months,” Arteaga highlighted.

Based on this, the new forecast with which the Area is working is that “we estimate that the new pedestrian walkway at the Padre Anchieta roundabout will be definitively completed” and operational after the summer of 2024.

“The delay is mainly motivated by the adjustments that have had to be made, in an unfavorable economic situation. The price of materials and supply difficulties have affected the execution of the work. In any case, the pieces of the catwalk are already being manufactured,” explained the island councilor.
