Pinolere will once again hold its annual artisan meeting from Friday to Sunday. The 38th edition is dedicated to timpleros and will feature the presence of 45 artisan gastronomy companies and 160 craft exhibition and sale stands. The ethnographic venue will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with the opening ceremony scheduled for tomorrow (12:30 p.m.) by the regional, island and local authorities.. Next, the XX Villa de La Orotava Crafts and Heritage Award will be presented to the timplero Francisco Fariña Izquierdo, and the Honorary Drivers, to the Canaragua company, in the business category; Parranda Chaboco, in the institutional modality, and Antonia María Bethencourt Díaz (Toñi), in the individual modality.
The organization makes a free bus service available to the public with the purchase of the ticket at this point (2.5 euros), which from 10:00 to 19:00 will depart every hour from Avenida Sor Soledad Cobián, in the center of the urban area of La Orotava. The program includes exhibitions, music, tributes, commented tastings, gastronomic activities and educational workshops.

Among the exhibitions opening tomorrow is Ancestorsby Agael León, “a recognition of them, a reflection, a bridge between prehistory and the present moment through my work, preserving the legacy of the ancestral techniques of traditional Canarian pottery,” according to the Tenerife artisan. This day, in addition, they present the private collection of timples from Pedro Izquierdo and the luthier David Sánchez León will announce The imaginary. Every afternoon there will be a timple workshop for young people, by timplero Francisco Rodríguez Hernández and timplero Saúl Camacho González.
Saturday will be dedicated to traditions and Teguise (Lanzarote), for their work in preserving the Diabletes and the Rancho de Pascua. For this reason, they will receive a tribute at 1:30 p.m., together with the artisan timple builder of the municipality Alberto Chirino. In the afternoon the folkloric twinning will take place between the Parranda Chaboco of Pinolere and the AF Amigos de Punta Rasca, of Arona.
On Sunday you can enjoy, among other things, the performances of José Luis Estévez with the shows The drum of the islands and Güicho sings and tells the Flora and Fauna of the Canary Islands.
The mayor, Francisco Linares, appreciates that this exhibition, a benchmark in the Canary Islands, was not suspended due to the fire, but the date will be moved. “The artisans and the rest of the participants have made a great effort to attend,” so he hopes that this edition repeats the success recorded in the previous ones.
